Good phone for normal use
I have been using iPhone since 2022, but my job in the IT field requires me to regularly develop and test Android apps. Thus I needed a phone that would provide regular updates and Android updates till at least Android 16. So I got this phone at 13K. Now let me break down the review.1. The biggest pro of this phone is One UI. The amount of useful features this OS provides is brilliant. Knox security is a big thing. Customisation features are great. The UI is good for daily use. And sometimes handles heavy tasks pretty well. But still there are some stutters here and there mainly due to the processor.2. Exynos 1280 is sort of a mixed bag. For regular use, it handles the UI well. It handles COD smoothly in low/medium settings. There isnât any lag or so in my 4-5 days of use. But there are a few stutters here and there that can be ignored considering the price. Yes there are phones with better processor in the market, but apart from Motorola other phones doesnât have good software experience in my opinion. Thus good software for Exynos is trade off I am willing to accept.3. The display is brilliant. Amoled and 120 Hz is a good combination with good brightness. The 120 Hz makes the UI feel even smoother. The notch at the top and the thicker bottom bezel though makes it look dated.4. Sound is average through the mono speaker. It is loud but lacks depth. But the phone makes up for it with the Dolby Atmos for headphones. I use Sony WF-C700N and it sounds brilliant with Dolby Atmos.5. Battery is good for daily use. I have pushed this phone and found out that this phone can last a full day and maybe some more. But there is one thing to consider that this is my secondary phone, so I donât have any sim card installed and use only with Wi-Fi. So battery life can be a bit less with sim cards installed. However, there is no charger in the box like all Samsung phones and I am using a Amazon Basics 24 watt charger and it charges the phone in approximately 2-2.5 hrs. I donât particularly like to use bigger charges as I feel that effects battery life in the long run. But if you are using 45 watt charger this phone can charge within 1-1.5 hrs.6. Not being my primary phone I havenât used itâs cameras much, just taken a couple of pics and they seem sharp and well exposed. But that is a very limited data set to review the cameras of this device. But the cameras seem good for the price.7. The build quality is good but not great. The back feels flimsy if you press it. Other than that the build is solid. The fingerprint reader is fast and accurate but not the faster out there. The use of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 deserves brownie points. The weight too isnât much and the form factor isnât too big.8. The software update cycle promised by Samsung is great as this phone will get updates till Android 17. However, the processor may not be able to hold it own till then if used as a primary device with tons of applications.Overall, for my use of testing applications mainly, along with some music and video streaming, this phone is indeed a good proposition. I would happily rate it 4/5. But keep in mind that my review doesnât cover network reception and call quality. Using daily as a primary device, I feel this will give more stutters that might prove to be irritating but not unusable.
