Other than google’s blatant disregard for consumer expectations of use case, this tablet works fine. unfortunately, the placement of the buttons mean that every cover for it opens up the wrong way. I am momentarily enraged every time I pick this thing up. Besides the fact that you have to deal with google’s poor design choices, it’s exactly what you expect a midrange android tablet to be. Havent used it as a smart home dock because I uh, have a phone already as well as decent speakers. From my perspective the main reason to purchase this over other android tablets is that it runs stock android without all the awful bloatware you get on a samsung or comparable device. If that isn’t something you care much about, this might not be the tablet for you. It doesnt have many nice QoL features you might be looking for at this price point, like a display faster than 60 hz or any kind of fast charging.

This Pixel tablet is so much like my Pixel phone that it is almost as if it is a giant phone. There are important differences of course. Casting is fast and easy from tablet to a TV with Chromecast. Video calls are clear with great sound. That said, this is NOT a phone. You can’t make and receive calls, only video calls (I use Google for this.) Everything in the Google-verse syncs, from laptop (Chrome) to cell, to tablet – if you want it to do so. The battery life is very good. I use a rapid charger, not the base that is available as I am not using Google Home. If you do, you will want the base. I’m very happy with this purchase, a replacement for an outdated Chromebook.

My husband loved his Fatherâs Day gift. He has it syncâd to his Google Pixel phone. Now that he has a bigger screen than the phone, he enjoys reading again. I previously gave it a rating of 1 because it was in my Alexa notification and he heard about the item. It was supposed to be a surprise.
